Mississippi Instructional Resource Center (MIRC)

The Mississippi Instructional Resource Center (MIRC) coordinates the registration of students who are legally blind and administers the Federal Quota Funds.  The funds are then used to purchase textbooks in Braille and large type and specialized educational materials for legally blind students in public and parochial schools and agencies statewide.   MIRC also provides services to partially-sighted students whose best corrected vision is no better than 20/70 or whose doctor requests large type textbooks.  Funds are appropriated by the state legislature.

The Mississippi Instructional Resource Center (MIRC) is the repository for braille textbooks, large type textbooks, and specialized educational materials.
