MS Instructional Resource Center for the Visually Impaired
The MIRC is the repository for large type and braille textbooks for distribution to school districts with students meeting state and federal guidelines.
The center is responsible for maintaining the registry of these students for the purpose of purchasing materials requested by the school districts for their use. Students whose best corrected vision is no better than 20/70 or students whose doctor requests large type textbooks also qualify for this service. The MIRC is able to purchase large type and braille books through funds provided by the state legislature and the American Printing House for the Blind Federal Quota Registry.
