Activities

The Mississippi School for the Blind offers students a variety of extracurricular opportunities. Field trips, laboratory-based activities in conjunction with local museums, state or university facilities and community activities are integrated into the day or extended day school year.

General and applied band, applied piano and choral music are taught in both individual and group settings. MSB’s concert choir and stage band perform on campus and in the community. Interscholastic wrestling, cheerleading, track and field are events in which MSB students can challenge and improve their athletic skills. MSB athletes compete on regional and national levels. Student activities include student council, scouting, reading fair competition, science fair competition and spelling bee competition.
